I've been a huge fan of Youtube forever. Not so much anymore.
They have been randomly deleting videos, banning accounts, and they don't offer any explanation.
Randomly by which videos they delete, however the theme is anything related to affiliate marketing or making money online is fair game to get the axe.
It started back in January when Rosaland had a video deleted. It was an informative video but they still deleted it without notice.
Then last week they killed the problogger youtube account, the entire account: Youtube Broke My Heart
I'm not immune either; I'm a youtube partner, have over 300 videos spanning multiple years, but I got an infraction and a warning they will delete my account if they determine any of my 300 videos already posted are no longer worthy. The video they removed was an informational video about how to make an affiliate site.
Another blogger in the affiliate space that I'm subscribed to Tiffany Dow had her account banned today.
On not one single video above have I seen a single reason to remove the video or ban the accounts of the bloggers.
Of course problogger has enough connections to get reinstated, however most people don't.
What The Youtube Bans Mean To You
Back up your videos. They could be gone tomorrow for stupid reasons or no reason at all.
Host your own videos. I have always used youtube videos on my sales pages but I will be switching to hosting my own with amazon s3 in the near future.
I would still recommend youtube because they can provide good traffic, however I would proceed with caution before using them as my only video host.
The craziest thing about google removing affiliate and make money online videos is they themselves own an affiliate network and make 99% of their money online.
